Ninja Squirrel

This lesson was inspired by a special Zoom live birthday party I was invited to host. What an exciting birthday event this was! The birthday twins were turning ten, and they are huge fans of my YouTube channel. Apparently they have drawn more than three hundred of my YouTube drawing lessons! Their parents emailed me and asked whether I could do this special birthday celebration featuring the twins’ favorite YouTube episode, “Ninja Squirrel!” I had never presented a live Zoom birthday party before but was delighted to give it a go. I enjoyed teaching the twenty kids gathered in the home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, along with several more of the twins’ friends and family “Zooming” in from other states. I loved it, all except not being able to eat any of the delicious birthday cake I saw the kids chowing down on. Let’s have fun drawing this fluffy Ninja Squirrel!

STEP 1. Let’s begin this cool, fluffy Ninja Squirrel with a very loose, relaxed circle. Remember, it’s okay NOT to draw a perfect circle. In fact, a circle drawn with a bit of a shaky, uneven, imperfect line will actually ADD character to your sketch.
